I am the face, hands, and heart behind this entire operation. A graphic designer by day and a potter by night, I reside in McKinney, TX, where I create small-batch ceramics as strong as my roots. By blending my love for clay with a slight obsession for plants, I curate goods that are perfect for you and your plant babes.
Behind the Roots
The name Strong Roots Pottery stemmed from two different concepts: Clay and Hair.
[Clay] Deeply rooted in the ground, clay is a remarkable material that can be molded, thrown, sculpted, and manipulated into amazing creations. I am forever in awe of the journey clay must undergo to reach its final form. That's why witnessing the finished product, appearing strong and beautiful, is a feeling that will never grow old."
[Hair] As a Black woman, I take pride in the strong, curly roots growing out of my head. However, that wasn't always the case. I used to struggle with accepting my natural hair and physical appearance ever since I was a little girl. Strong Roots Pottery is a celebration of your authentic self, and I hope that anyone who comes across this space will receive that message. Regardless of the color of your skin or the roots that grow out of your head, you are worthy of expressing yourself through whatever art or passion you see fit.
